On Friday December 10th, 2021, Readytex Art Gallery (RAG) and Curator-in-Residence Miguel E. Keerveld have launched UDUBAKI part one showcasing artwork from artists Dhiradj Ramsamoedj, Kenneth Flijders, Leonnie van Eert, Rinaldo Klas, Roddney Tjon Poen Gie, Steven Towirjo and Xavier Robles de Medina, as well as works by guest artists Ruth Joeroeja, Delvin Bisoina and Wanda Eduards. The ‘local master’ featured in this exhibition is John Lie A Fo.

‘Udubaki’ is the Sranantongo word for wooden box and for publicity, and in this art manifestation Miguel E. Keerveld uses it as a metaphor for servitude in relation to spirituality. UDUBAKI part one also zooms in on feelings of inclusion, diversity and identification.

UDUBAKI part one is on view from Friday, December 10th, 2021, through Saturday, January 1st, 2022. You are most welcome to visit at your own convenience during the gallery’s regular opening hours.

Readytex Art Gallery (RAG) will be scheduling appointments on Saturdays for personal or small-group guided viewing sessions, so please let them know (through WhatsApp: 0894 5911 or e-mail: info@readytexartgallery.com), if you are interested in joining one of those.
