At Readytex Art Gallery (RAG) the third and final part of the UDUBAKI-exhibitions is already on schedule. Starting from Saturday February 5th you will be able to enjoy UDUBAKI part three, the next event within the larger ALAKONDRE: A space in time project. It is once again an exhibition, or rather an art manifestation, in which Readytex Art Gallery will show artwork by artists affiliated to the gallery, as well as work from several guest artists. The title UDUBAKI, Sranan for ‘wooden box’ and for ‘publicity’, is used as a metaphor for servitude in relation to spirituality.
With UDUBAKI part three, curator-in-residence and artist Miguel E. Keerveld focuses on ‘the emergence of magic’ through relational events in which we truly exist: a metaphor for knowledge and/or awareness. With this theme the curator concentrates on “intra-relations” or the connection between similarities and differences. Based on his conviction that we are at the same time one whole and diverse, Miguel focuses on “the manifestation of fractions of The Self and aspects that An Other does not have”, as he puts it. Using this as his point of departure for the February exhibition, he selected work by the artists Dakaya Lenz, Dhiradj Ramsamoedj, Helga Reigman, Jhunry Udenhout, Reinier Asmoredjo, Ruben Cabenda and Sunil Puljhun. The Surinamese master artist featured in this exhibition is René Tosari. Miguel also invited co-curator Sri Irodikromo to create a joint installation in which they reflect on the in-depth dialogues within ALAKONDRE: A space in time, the year-long project that is being developed in conjunction with the ‘Alakondre Krutu’ part 2. Just like the previous parts, UDUBAKI part three is a unique art manifestation that you must not just see, but rather one that you have to actually feel and experience. And that is only possible if you come and walk through it in person.
UDUBAKI part three is open from Saturday February 5th until Saturday February 26th, 2022. Due to the COVID-measures there will not be an opening reception. You are most welcome to visit during the regular opening hours of the gallery.

Bij Readytex Art Gallery staat inmiddels het derde en laatste deel van de UDUBAKI-exposities op schema. Vanaf zaterdag 5 februari is UDUBAKI part three te zien in de galerie; het eerstvolgend onderdeel van het grotere ALAKONDRE: A space in time-project. Ook in deze groepsexpositie ofwel kunstmanifestatie wordt er werk van kunstenaars getoond die bij Readytex Art Gallery zijn aangesloten, en werk van enkele gastkunstenaars. De titel UDUBAKI, Sranan voor ‘houten bak’ én voor ‘openbaarheid’, wordt gebruikt als metafoor voor dienstbaarheid in relatie tot spiritualiteit.
Met UDUBAKI part three richt curator-in-residence en kunstenaar Miguel E. Keerveld zich op ‘het ontstaan van magie’ door relationele gebeurtenissen waarin we echt bestaan: een metafoor voor kennis en/of bewustzijn. Met dit thema concentreert de curator zich op “intra-relaties” of de verbinding tussen gelijkenissen en verschillen. Gebaseerd op zijn overtuiging, dat we gelijktijdig een geheel en divers zijn, richt Miguel zich op “de manifestatie van fracties van Het Zelf en aspecten die Een Ander niet heeft”, zoals hij het verwoordt. Met dit uitgangspunt selecteerde hij voor de maand februari werk van Dakaya Lenz, Dhiradj Ramsamoedj, Helga Reigman, Jhunry Udenhout, Reinier Asmoredjo, Ruben Cabenda and Sunil Puljhun. De Surinaamse meesterkunstenaar wiens werk te zien zal zijn is René Tosari. Ook nodigt Miguel co-curator Sri Irodikromo uit om in een gezamenlijke installatie te reflecteren op diepgaande dialogen binnen het huidige ALAKONDRE: A space in time, een jaarlang project dat in samenhang met onze ‘Alakondre Krutu’ deel 2 tot stand komt. Net als de eerste twee delen is ook UDUBAKI part three een unieke kunstmanifestatie die u niet alleen moet zien, maar meer nog moet beleven. En dat kan alleen als u de expositie ook echt persoonlijk komt ervaren.
UDUBAKI part three is geopend van zaterdag 5 februari tot en met zaterdag 26 februari 2022. Rekening houdende met de Covid-maatregelen zal er geen openingsreceptie zijn.
