After the OPO YARI exhibition in January, at Readytex Art Gallery (RAG), the month of February is all about the gallery’s Bigi Yari! This February 8th marks the 30th anniversary of the opening in 1993. The group exhibition ECOLOGY – 30 years Readytex Art Gallery opens on Thursday, February 9 at 7:30 pm. In this special exhibition the audience is taken along on a visual journey through three decades of visual art development at Readytex Art Gallery.
Responsible for the composition of the exhibition was a mixed curatorial team consisting of visual artist Rinaldo Klas, artist and curator Miguel Keerveld and art and culture consultant Aruna Mungra. Rinaldo Klas, who has been connected to the gallery right from the start, is also the honorary artist of this exhibition. As a guideline for the art to be presented at the exhibition, the curators first made a selection of Rinaldo’s works from each of the three decades of the gallery’s existence. Inspired by this selection, the team built a chronologically structured collection consisting of works of art by all of the artists affiliated with the gallery, arranged according to the interconnected themes: human/nature, spirituality and abstraction. This interconnectedness can also be found among the multiple stakeholders of the gallery: the artists, Readytex-team members, buyers, collectors and visitors. There is a continuous cross pollination and interaction, which also leads to art development and has indeed been doing so for three decades now: ECOLOGY – 30 years Readytex Art Gallery.

Na de Opo Yari expositie in januari, staat de maand februari bij Readytex Art Gallery (RAG) in het teken van een bigi yari. Op 8 februari 2023 bestaat de galerie namelijk 30 jaar! De opening van de groepsexpositie ECOLOGY – 30 years Readytex Art Gallery vindt plaats op donderdag 9 februari om 19:30 uur. In deze bijzondere expositie wordt het publiek meegenomen op een visuele reis door drie decennia beeldende kunstontwikkeling in de galerie.
De samenstelling van de expositie was in handen van een gemengd curatorsteam bestaande uit beeldend kunstenaar Rinaldo Klas, kunstenaar en curator Miguel Keerveld en kunst- en cultuurconsultant Aruna Mungra. Rinaldo Klas, vanaf het prille begin een belangrijke steunpilaar van de galerie, is tevens de erekunstenaar van deze expositie. Als leidraad voor de opbouw van de tentoonstelling zijn uit de drie decennia van het bestaan van de galerie eerst werkstukken van deze stonfutu geselecteerd. Geïnspireerd door deze selectie stelden de curators een chronologisch opgebouwde collectie samen bestaande uit werk van alle aan de galerie aangesloten beeldend kunstenaars, gerangschikt naar de onderling met elkaar verbonden thema’s: mens/natuur, spiritualiteit en abstractie. Deze onderlinge verbondenheid is terug te vinden bij de verschillende actoren van de galerie: de kunstenaars, Readytex-teamleden, kopers, verzamelaars en kijkers. Er is een doorlopende kruisbestuiving en wisselwerking welke weer leidt tot kunstontwikkeling, al drie decennia lang: ECOLOGY – 30 years Readytex Art Gallery.
Deze jubileumexpositie zal ongetwijfeld mooie kunstherinneringen oproepen.
